Visa applications for minors -
Minor applicants must have copy of both parents' passports. This is in addition to the existing proof of address requirement and the birth certificate requirement. Effective monday march 15th, 2010

TOURIST TRAVEL:

Birth certificate or school diploma now required.
Effective January 15th, 2010, the Indian government has introduced new requirements for all visa applicants. All applicants, regardless of nationality or visa type requested, must submit a copy of their birth certificate or school diploma. Please do not submit the originals. If submitting a diploma, it must be a high school diploma or above.

Permit to Re-enter Within 2 Months Clarification.
This category only applies to current Tourist Visa holders who need a permit which will allow the applicant to re-enter India within 2 months after last leaving India. This permit is granted only if the need is urgent, and not for Business Activities/Employment or pursuing studies/research, etc. Further clarification was issued stating that if the visa holder is traveling to multiple countries on the same itinerary, no permit is needed as long as trip follows the itinerary exactly. The visa holder must carry a copy of the itinerary to show the Immigration Officer.

  1. Valid Passport with sufficient blank pages for visa stamps (expiration date should be greater than 6 months)

  3. Applicants must submit proof of residence/address while applying for the visa. Photocopy of driver license or utility bill is acceptable.

BUSINESS TRAVEL:

  4. A letter from the sponsoring organization indicating nature of applicant's business, probable duration of stay and length of visa, validity of visa, places and organizations to be visited and also a guarantee to meet maintenance expenses etc. should accompany the application.

  6. Business letter on corporate letterhead with entry and departure dates. Your letter must specify the length of the Visa requested. The letter should state that the company will assure financial responsibility. If you are applying for a 10-year visa, your company must request it in writing. Click here for sample business letter.

TRANSFER OF BUSINESS VISA:

  1. Passport Requirements: Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, and with at least two blank visa pages available for visa stamp(s) and expired or canceled passport with valid Indian visa. To transfer an Indian visa from an old passport to a new passport, both the expired passport which holds the valid Indian visa and the current passport MUST be provided.
  2. Visa Application Form: One visa application form per applicant completed on-line, printed and signed. Only on-line applications are accepted. Signature must be original on each application. Improperly completed forms may delay the processing of your visa.
  3. Photo Requirements: Two recent 2 x 2 passport type photographs, in color, front view and with a plain/light background. San Francisco jurisdiction: no glasses may be worn in these photos; photos should not be stapled to the application.
  4. Other Forms: Proof of residential address in the United States: Clear copy of applicant's driver’s license, utility bill or phone bill. Address on the document must match address on the visa application form. Copy of Birth Certificate: A photocopy of the applicant’s birth certificate. Please note: You should not send the original birth certificate; It's Easy cannot be responsible for original documents.
  5. Official Invitation: A letter of invitation from sponsor (either host company or individual) explaining the relationship to the applicant and the purpose of travel. In addition, the letter must indicate the length of stay, place of stay, and contact information.
  6. Visa Validity: When a visa is transferred from an expired or canceled passport to a new passport, a new stamp is issued but the visa validity does not change. The new visa will expire on the same date as the visa being transferred.

  • 6-month multiple Business Visa will not be granted
    The Consulate fee is $173.00 for a 1-year Visa
    The Consulate fee is $253.00 for a 10-year Visa
  • It's Easy, Inc. service fees are $45.00 for one week service: $125 for express service.
  • The Shipping fees are $25.00 for Overnight Delivery, $35.00 for Saturday Delivery or prepaid airbill
  • You may deliver the documents in person.
