REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN VISA TO ENTER LAOS
Tourist Visa
- Visa issued on arrival: (please be sure to check this information with your Airline before you travel to Laos)
Visa can be obtained at Vientiane International Airport, Luang Prabang, Pakse and Warray airports for a stay of max. 30 days (one extension possible) - Submit your Passport, must have at least six months remaining validity and one blank visa page
- 2 Visa Application Forms, fully completed and signed
- 3 Passport-type photographs
- Photocopy of travel agency, or airline itinerary
Business Visa
- Submit your Passport, must have at least six months remaining validity and one blank visa page
- 2 Visa Application Forms, fully completed and signed
- 3 Passport-type photographs
- Your host company in Laos must obtain an approval letter from the Immigration Department in Vientiane, to be sent to the Embassy of Laos in Washington. Processing is facilitated if a copy of the letter is submitted with the application.
- A business letter of responsibility is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:
Embassy of Laos, Visa Section, Washington D.C.
The letter must explain all of the following: - Nature of business to be performed
- Name and address of reference to be visited
- Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds
- Letter is signed by company manager, other than applicant.
